Now Hiring: Scheduling Coordinator

Maria Joseph Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is looking for a Coordinator that proactively works to control the center’s labor expenses to minimize overtime and agency use, while ensuring that the facility is staffed in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.

Scheduling Coordinator
-Creates schedules for Nurses and STNA’s based on established routines
-Maintains center coverage at all times. Reviews and tracks requests for time Coordinates scheduling changes with management. Secures advance approvals for booking Agency staff
-Serves as liaison with staff with respect to work schedules.
-Negotiates schedules balancing center’s staffing needs, federal and state laws and regulations, employee schedule preferences, and financial
-Communicates open shifts to Staffing Services to fill temporary staffing needs
-Personally responds to emergency situations to ensure center coverage.
-When not available to respond, ensures all Unit Managers are briefed daily on the protocol to ensure adequate response and coverage
-Maintains confidentiality with respect to all employee information including but not limited to schedule preferences, rates, and payroll
-Complies with and promotes adherence to applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including but not limited to those within the standard code of conduct, Federal False Claims Act and HIPAA
-Ensures timely and accurate reporting and responses to compliance-related issues and monitors the implementation of corrective action plans related to such issues
-Ensures that staff participates in orientation and training programs including but not limited to all required compliance courses and relevant policies and procedures, and that such training is properly documented.
-Participates in compliance and other required training programs
-Participates in staff development and team building

-Performs related work as assigned by the Director of Nursing
-Promotes a culture of safety to ensure a healthy practice and living environment
-Contributes to an environment that is respectful, team-oriented, and responsive to the concerns of staff, residents and families
-Participates in quality improvement activities, and in-service training, as requested.

-High school diploma or GED is required for this position
-Associates degree in healthcare or related field preferred
-Experience with scheduling and pay practices in 24/7 environment preferred
-Strong computer skills required; experience using Excel, Outlook, and MS Word required to support work activities.
-OnShift® or other automated scheduling software highly preferred.
